On July 3, YL Automobile was honored to be represented at the Rwandan Embassy in Beijing for the commemoration of Rwanda's Liberation Day. The highlight of the evening was a meeting with H.E. The policy framework is both ambitious and actionable. Rwanda has set a target for 70% of new vehicle registrations to be electric by 2035, up from just 15% in 2021. Since July 2025, electric vehicles have enjoyed full tax exemptions covering VAT, customs duties, excise duties, and withholding taxes—a substantial incentive that makes quality EVs increasingly accessible. More recently, an April 2026 directive mandates that all government institutions ensure at least 30% of procured vehicles are fully electric. These are not aspirational targets; they are binding regulations that signal clear and present demand.
